EU15: Montgomery County Public Schools: Utilizing Design Standards to Ensure the Right System Room: 206 ~ 1:00PM - 2:00PM (Wednesday, April 01, 2009)
Installed surveillance systems are inadequate typically not because the technology is incapable of providing forensic quality detail, instead because the system is often deployed incorrectly. In this presentation, using an on-going project implementation at Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS), the end user, integrator, and manufacturer will highlight three critical steps to take to provide a system that exceeds the customer's needs while remaining within budget. MCPS has standardized on megapixel IP camera technology and advanced IP video management software to be implemented across 25 high schools, 35 middle schools, and 135 elementary schools which educate 138,000 students. By implementing these basic principles facility managers, IT teams and integrators speak the same language and that the IP video system exceeds expectations. Integators, installers, specifiers, security consultants, architects, engineers and end users be sure to attend.
